Pass The Hat Fundraiser

The phrase "pass the hat" comes from an old, informal tradition where someone would literally pass around a hat to collect donations from a group of people—often during community gatherings or performances. It now refers more broadly to any informal collection of funds which is more grassroots and carries a sense of community spirit and voluntary giving, even if there's no actual hat involved.

Pass the Hat is the major fundraising event for RHS PTSA. As busy parents/guardians of high school students ourselves, we want to keep our fundraising simple for everyone! No cookie dough or door-to-door sales — we simply ask that you donate to help support the many programs, projects, and activities of Redmond High School PTSA which support your child.

Pass the Hat funds support:

  • Student enrichment activities
  • School improvements (study tables, parking lot flags)
  • Classroom supplies (microscopes, scales)
  • Club & sports equipment (indoor batting cages)
  • Support for a drug and alcohol counselor
  • Scholarships for graduating seniors

If your employer matches donations, RHS PTSA can raise even more from your contribution. Learn more about company matching.

Redmond High School PTSA is a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible as permitted by law.
